Sun Wukong, Je Cheon Dae-Seong, Great Sage, Heaven's Equal, Or Great Sage the Equal of Heaven (제천대성, 齊天大聖), one of the Abnormal/Monstrous Clan, and he is the only one who survived from the Sacred Mountain's Silent Annihilation.
Overview[]
Abnormal/Monstrous Being (요인이), There wasn't any human left who called Monsters (요괴, 妖怪) on this world anymore. 'Abnormal/Monstrous Being' is a term that treats Monsters as Humans. It's a distant, ancient era, a time so far back that it can't even be called 'ancient'. Only people from that era, when Monsters and Humans coexisted, knew that demons were a species that had branched off from Humans.
Amongst all those Monsters, Great Sage, Heaven's Equal, is the only one who survived!
The disaster of Sacred Mountain's Silent Annihilation (영산적멸, 靈山寂滅)! The existence of the Monstrous Clan, which had persisted for over a thousand years, was completely wiped out back then. Monstrous Beings who could no longer absorb the spiritual energy of Sacred Mountain became engulfed in madness, disrupting the Human World.
Some were executed, while others had no choice but to hide underground. Life in the underworld was even more hellish. Consuming the earth's energy, full of negative energy instead of the perilous spiritual energy, turned them into even more frenzied Monstrous Beings, leading to a tragic situation where they devoured each other.
The core of the hell-like destruction of Sacred Mountain was the Divine Throne.
Conversation[]
Naturally, it made no sense that his true self could exist in this realm beyond the dimensional barrier. That was a universal law that could never be surpassed by anyone except for reincarnates, like Divine Throne, who had been reborn by borrowing another's body. Could it be that 'he' has already broken the law's barrier?
Divine Throne: "Who gave you your name?"
There was a strong suspicion on the face of Great Sage, Heaven's Equal.
-"How could you not know it even after being named and rising to the Throne?"
Divine Throne: "Do you really know it?"
The great beings amongst the Creators never revealed their true identities to the Thrones even once. Yet, did he claim to know the name of the one who, despite being amongst the ranks of the Creators, bestowed a divine name and allowed entry to the Throne? Divine Throne's expression turned extremely stern as he looked back at Great Sage, Heaven's Equal.
Divine Throne: "Did you really see a god... no, the Heavenly Emperor?"
The pinnacle of power within the Central Plains civilization is held by the Heavenly Emperor.
-"So, you do know. That being exists in the most exalted place of all. Great Sage, Heaven's Equal is the name directly bestowed upon me by that Heavenly Emperor."
God? Appearing in various forms to all Lower Beings, that fellow was actually an 'Illusory Naming.' Creating false-Thrones, receiving adoration and praise from them, maintaining his influence and existence—truly the most despicable amongst the Thrones. Even this pitiful primitive being been victim to his secretive deceit. The specialty of this illusory naming was, naturally, illusions. He could manifest miracles akin to the actions of Gods, creating all sorts of fantastic illusions.
As Divine Throne sighed, he relayed all these facts to the Great Sage, Heaven's Equal.
-"Kyaaaaah! Everything... is just false illusions? Impossible! How could such incredible and marvelous experiences be mere illusions!"
While the illusory naming had a notorious reputation within the Thrones' world, in terms of sheer existence, it ranked Amongst the Highest Echelons of the Thrones. As an explicit example, until the Great Sage, Heaven's Equal exposed his flaws, even Divine Throne recognized him as a throne. What made him formidable was his ability to intricately blend reality and illusion. His illusory nature allowed him to deceive even the perception of existence.
Divine Throne: "It's far more pathetic compared to the seemingly powerful attacks."
The problem lies in the fact that once the illusion is perceived by the opponent, it's easily shattered. When Divine Throne quickly revealed his presence, the illusion that had been wrapped around him started to fade away cleanly.
-"Uh? What?"
The illusion, convincingly blending reality and the virtual world, disappeared completely. The Great Sage, Heaven's Equal had to acknowledge that some unknown force that had been amplifying his essence had entirely vanished. Divine Throne casually gazed at his revealed essence, prompting Divine Throne to burst into admiration.
Divine Throne: "Truly an incredible power."
Indeed, as the last surviving Monstrous Being, despite the dissipation of all illusions, the Great Sage's power remained tremendous. Having cultivated his power for thousands of years, he effortlessly surpassed the level of the Three Gods.
-"This, this can't be real..."
To think that his attainment, surpassing the limits of the Monstrous Beings, was possibly a fake. The Great Sage, feeling utterly desolate, having lost everything, hung his head in despair.
