Dokamja/Lone Cliff Child (독암자), or Gwiamja/Ghostly Dark Child (귀암자), the Grim Darkness Honored God, a Taoist of the Heavenly Immortal Sect, 1,000 years ago. One of the Six Honored Gods who have been bestowed with the pure power of the Divine Throne.

Overview[]

He was a solitary figure who didn't easily associate with other Taoists and always stood alone, dedicating himself endlessly to cultivation. His disposition was as firm as a rock, making it difficult for anyone to approach him thoughtlessly, yet surprisingly, he had many followers. He was never stingy when it came to sharing what he knew for the sake of his disciples.

Beneath his resolute and unyielding exterior like that of a rock, he harbored gentleness and compassion. He was a quintessential Taoist in ceaselessly seeking the Tao. If not for his highly individualistic nature, he might have become the greatest Taoist in the history of Heavenly Immortal Sect (천선문). He was the only Taoist to surpass Profound Immortal (현선, 玄仙) and True Immortal (진선, 眞仙) and reach the state of Eternal Immortal (영선, 永仙).

The fervor of his pursuit, if answered by the heavens, could have elevated him to the realm of Great Immortal (대선, 大仙) or even Heavenly Immortal (천선, 天仙), the first in the history of Heavenly Immortal Sect (천선문). At that time, Cheon Woo-Ja, who was just a Assistant Immortal (지선, 支仙), highly revered and admired the reclusive Dokamja.

Although there were countless accomplished Taoists in the Heavenly Immortal Sect, his heart was solely devoted to Dokamja. Both were pursuing the same path (道) beyond the elevated realms. Dokamja contradicted the central teaching of Cheondo Gyeong (天道經), the doctrine of impermanence (諸行無常), which states that all things in the universe are constantly changing and impermanent.

He argued that even within this impermanence, the essence and hierarchy of the soul were predetermined from the beginning, contrary to the fundamental principles of Daoism that sharpen the innate nature of a person's spirit and soul to transform into an exalted being, denoted as "takga" (脫殼: shedding the human shell).

His claims were seen as blasphemous, defying the core teachings of Daoism, sparking opposition among many Taoists within the Heavenly Immortal Sect. Moreover, the examples he cited to substantiate his argument were considered outlandish and akin to delusions. A hallucinatory spectacle reached at the end of meditation.

He claimed to have encountered an absolute divinity within this hallucination. However, faced with an unbridgeable disparity in terms of prowess, he descended into endless despair. His existence, even if claiming to reach the highest realm of Heavenly Immortal, was an unfathomable divinity beyond reach.

After that incident, he disappeared without a trace. Some accused him of being consumed by malevolence and transforming into a Demonic Immortal (魔仙), but Cheon Woo-Ja never believed it. However, behold that figure! Despite being enveloped in an aura as dark as ink, it was undoubtedly a Demonic Immortal. Yet, within that darkness, the indomitable force unique to Dokamja, as resolute as a rock, still emanated.
